My youngest niece turned 4 years old and wanted me to make her a Snow white cake.
I used my dress shaped mould again to get the right shape for the dress. The dress is a chocolate mud cake and underneath it is an Oreo cake. Here is the result:

The Royal British Wedding Cupcakes
To celebrate the Royal British Wedding (and beacuse there was Friday bar at work!) I wanted to make some cupcakes for this special event.
The cupcakes have a bit of honey in them which gives it a nice sweet and different flavour. The icing is made of egg whites, sugar, vanilla sugar, sirup and water.
I painted the flag on top of marchmallows with my food writing pen color - this was the result:

Detroit Tigers Cake
Surprise cake for a birthday celebrated far away from home - for a true Tigers fan!
The orange cake is an Oreo cake with butter icing and fondant. The cap is a mud cake, which I normally choose for a cake that needs 'shaping' and also because it is so delicious :-)

Ladybird cake
I was asked to make a special cake for a special little girl's first birthday. I came up with a ladybird cake. The 'grass' is a chocolate cake with a coconot icing which I colored green. The ladybird is a chocolate mudcake. The body is baked in my new sportsball cake mould. The head is made in my new smallball cake mould. Then I covered the ladybird with chocolate icing and red fondant. The spots are made of black writing icing. I added M&M's flowers for a colorful finish and because it's always a great hit with the kids.

Beach hut
Finally it was my own birthday and I wanted to make a cake that would look like the place I wish I could have spend my birthday - on a beach far away from the cold and all that snow!
I started to make 3 basic layers and a custard filling with a pineapple, rum and coconut jam which I colored blue.
I then made to round chocolate mud cakes. One of them was cut in to 4 small round ones. The other one I shaped and covered with marzipan for the beach.
I made the beach hut with Bounty chocolate cream filling and used the cut off bites to shape the roof.
I then use chocolate 'strips' to look like the 'wood' and added black icing and jelly beans to make a light chain around the hut.
I crushed some biscuits to look like sand, some toblerone to look like rocks and added some whipped cream to make waves. The mussels are Belgium chocolates. The 'palm tree' is a soft chocolate stick with a bit of fresh mint.
Rabbit
A year has pasted since I made the Hello Kitty cake for my Niece's birthday party. This year I asked her if she wanted her aunt to make her another cake and what it should look like. She told me that she would very much like a rabbit cake because she really likes the animal. She then started to draw how the eyes and mouth should look like. I told her I would do my best. The eyes are inspired by 'My little pet shop'.
First I made 2 round chocolate mud cakes which I cut in half.
I then made a chocolate cake with coconut icing colored green to look like grass. I cut a hole in the middle of the grass and started to 'build' the body of the rabbit with the chocolate mud cake which I put together with milk chocolate cream filling.
I then cut of a piece from the last half of the chocolate mud cake to make the tail. The ears are made of melted marshmallows put on an edible 'string' and attached with a small toothpick. Finally I covered the hole cake with chocolate cream and finely grated milk chocolate to look like fur. The eyes and teeth are made of fondant and the nose is a red peanut M&M's.

Telephone
I worked full time for 3 months during this summer and wanted to make my colleagues a cake for my last day at work. I decided to make a cake in the shape of the most important tool we work with. Guess what I worked with...
The base is a banana layered cake with a toblerone cream filling and a chocolate butter icing. The phone is made of chocolate mud cake covered with white fondant and M&M's with black icing. The cord of the phone is a piece of licorice which I twisted and attached with black icing.
